Langevin Train The Trainer PDF Print E-mail

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Instructional Techniques for New Instructors is devoted almost entirely to instructional and presentation skills. It is intended for people with little or no experience in instruction.
This program takes a strong performance-based approach and teaches highly learner-centered techniques. Each skill we teach has a practical exercise that goes with it to reinforce learning. All of the exercises build up to a recorded teaching session incorporating all the new skills learned throughout the workshop. You will receive detailed feedback from the instructor and your peers and will leave with mini-DVD of your presentation, along with critique sheets and suggestions for improvement. This workshop is approved by Microsoft for the presentation skills component of Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT).
By attending this workshop, your staff will walk away with a variety of tips and techniques to enhance their instructional skills and improve the dynamics in their classroom. Due to the hands-on application exercises that are incorporated into this workshop, skills will be immediately transferred back on the job.

OUR PROFESSIONAL STATUS

Langevin Learning Services is the recognized industry leader in training.
All of our programs are built upon the competencies recommended by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (ibstpi) We were voted #1 in the Train-the-Trainer category of Training Magazine’s First Annual Achieving Performance eXcellence (APX) Awards. 50,000 training professionals were asked to make their selections for the best supplier as measured by four criteria: Value,
Ease of Use, Meet/exceed expectations, and Exceptional Customer Service.
“A Langevin workshop is a life changing experience that everyone should have the
opportunity to attend. We left feeling so confident!”
Andrea Chvatal, M·A·C Cosmetics
“Langevin continues to exceed my expectations and open new learning experiences through an
over-the-top environment for learning.
Jeff Billingsley, Red Lobster Restaurants

OUR APPROACH

• Our preference is for realistic, practical material. We concentrate our efforts on the "how-to's" in the training field.
• Our workshops are designed to show your staff what to do, why it should be done, and how to do it.
• We take great pride in our course manuals. They are the "heart" of our courses. Our manuals are designed as a practical job aid and consist of performance checklists, decision tables, samples, worksheets, procedural guides and glossaries. In fact, every page is designed as a job aid.
• Our workshops are highly participative and interactive. We believe that the most beneficial parts of our workshops are the participants’ opportunities to perform the skills they are learning and receive feedback on their efforts.
• An important goal of our workshops is to have participants leave at the end with the feeling -- "This isn't so hard. I can do it!".
• By using accelerated learning principles, creative training techniques and job aid designs, your people will learn more in our courses than in many courses that are 2 to 3 days longer.
“I was amazed by the way you were able to personalize the course to our needs.”
Helen Hampton, Volkswagen
“Excellent! I have attended four workshops with Langevin and each one manages to far exceed my expectations. I would recommend these workshops to anyone in training!”
Sharrie Jackson, US Patent & Trademark Office
“Very personalized -- the focus was entirely on us and our objectives.”
Rebecca Hughes, Verizon

FEATURES WORTH NOTING

We can customize our workshops by combining or condensing the course content to meet your specific needs. This is done in two steps:
• we will discuss your training priorities with you and arrange a consultation call with one of our instructors;
• we will survey the participants' needs before their workshop.
Your company will save time and money on travel and costs that may be incurred by attending a public workshop. This allows you to use more of your training budget on actual training!
We offer a 1-year follow-up service for participants to give feedback and help in furthering their skills. Our instructors will give them feedback on their work via telephone or email.
If participants wish to discuss an issue in greater depth, our instructors will stay late or arrive early to provide individual attention.
Your staff will share common approaches and terminology, which will enhance the consistency and professionalism of their courses.
It’s an excellent way to team build and show your trainers that their professional development is of value to the organization.
All participants will receive a certificate of completion.

OUR STEPS TO A SUCCESSFUL WORKSHOP

To ensure that the workshop meets your needs as closely as possible, we will:
• discuss the project to clarify your objectives, organizational concerns, broad content areas and administrative details.
• send confirmation details and a workshop checklist to assist with the logistical planning of your program. This will also include a confirmation letter and survey for you to distribute to each attendee.
• tabulate the survey results to target the learners’ concerns and tailor the content and flow of the workshop accordingly.
• finalize course content, instructional methods and administrative details.
• ship all course manuals and materials approximately one to two weeks before the workshop.
• conduct the workshop and distribute an evaluation form to each participant. We will forward a copy of the workshop evaluations to you with your invoice after the workshop.
• take follow-up phone calls from the attendees after the workshop to answer questions, give advice and discuss problems.
“The best train-the-trainer workshops are offered by Langevin. They help your trainers
develop into professionals.”
Gary Wilson, Gulfstream Aerospace
“Awesome! High participation, lots of information, great networking opportunities. My
staff will benefit greatly. I’m sending them all to Langevin!”
Angela Gray, Capital One
“An On-site workshop is the best investment in your people.”
Kamini Sahadeo, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce
Each participant will get a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program.  Based on competencies established by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (ibstpi), our workshops and certification programs are recognized and very well respected by training professionals everywhere.  For more information on these competencies, please review their website at  http://www.ibstpi.org/competencies.htm
